Ensuring Data Privacy in Philippine Schools

Ensuring Data Privacy in Philippine Schools

Security is not an Afterthought

When handling the personally identifiable information (PII) of minors, standard security measures are not enough. The Apterlearn architecture was built from day one to be a fortress.

Compliance with RA 10173

The Philippine Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012 is strictly enforced in our systems.

  • Data Residency: All primary databases are hosted locally within Philippine data centers.
  • Encryption at Rest & Transit: We utilize AES-256 encryption across all storage buckets.
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): A teacher can only see their advisory class. A counselor can see the school. Every database query is cryptographically signed and logged.

Handling LRNs (Learner Reference Numbers)

LRNs are treated as highly sensitive data. Our platform automatically anonymizes data for analytics purposes, ensuring that our ML models learn without ever knowing who the student is.

"Our guarantee to schools is simple: Your data belongs to you. We merely protect it."
